Just saw the episode, the program is fairly balanced in my opinion.
I hope we will agree we all love our Macs, but Steve has ditched us, we have trusted Apple, address our concerns. Apple please come out with a official word on this.
There have been posts on discussion boards on the heat sink issue, but why dont Apple officially acknowledge this. It is frustating to find the Apple store technician pretending he has never heard of this problem.
And one thing which i want to add is that did we pay Apple to buy refurbished Macbooks. Apple has used us for beta testing its Macbooks.
I am very unhappy with this Macbook.

I second that. I still love my iMac, it never misses a beat. Best computer I’ve ever had. My wife now uses it which is why I bought the MacBook. Big mistake. Last Apple I buy.
I hate to turn back to PC’s but yesterday I ordered a Dell… Let’s hope their desktops don’t explode as well as their laptops though!
How hard is it for these companies to filter in a bit of quality control and honesty?
I’ve said it before but this has opened my naive eyes to Apple. No different to Microsoft et al.
RECALL MACBOOKS!!

Thanks for the download too, great story highlighting our problem.
Thank you Sky News!
It’s reassuring to hear that familiar shutdown noise and know that I am not alone…

Thanks so much for this site which resulted in this Sky News story. The Sky News report accurately describes the problems that I and many other have experienced, and describes the way Apple has been handling (and not handling) the problem. I think it is great that RSS even happened to a Sky News reporter on camera.
It seems that the issue is understood and being fixed by the new heatsink, and that newly manufactured MacBooks are probably OK. But there are numerous MacBooks that are already out there that are vulnerable. Hopefully this Sky News story will put pressure on Apple to come clean and handle the problem openly. I hope CNN will pick up the story now.
